Sara, when I was putting my organizer together, I initially struggled putting it together because I saw so much overlap between the various themes and applications. Did you struggle with this same issue? How did you ultimately determine where to place each application?
Hi Sara: I liked your graphic organizer because I saw it doing two things. It brought together the elements of the technology, and somehow became a Venn-Diagram of like comparison. Was this on purpose?
Sara, this was a very interesting graphic organizer. It is amazing how you chose Second Life for all three areas. How do you use the tool? It seems a little inappropriate for K-8 classrooms.
At first, I thought the same thing, Monkey-Boy. There was a lot of overlapping, but don’t you believe that blogs can be used to engage communication and for authentic collaboration?
Andrew, I teach at the college level, so it fits much better. I see it as a great way to teach in a classroom style with interaction, a way to communicate through chat, and a way to give a sense of community to students. It is important in online learning that students have student-student social interaction and Second Life helps to provide this.
Wanda and Money Boy, There is overlap simply because of the different ways the technology can be used. I can use Facebook to post my thoughts and change the settings so no one else can post to my wall. This allows for one way communication. I can also use Facebook to chat, hold discussions, email, and allow my friends to interact with me on my Wall. This is why things overlap on the graphic.

Chris - yes, it shows how these areas overlap.
